Rejoice and Weep
“Rejoice with those who rejoice, weep with those who weep.”
There’s this common misconception that Christians aren’t supposed to “feel sad,” but we are actually called to not only bare our own burdens, but also the burdens of others. In Romans 12:12, Paul calls the church to REJOICE in HOPE, be PATIENT in TRIBULATION, and CONSTANT in PRAYER.
For those of us wrestling with anxiety and depression, it can be very easy to push others away. Don’t be discouraged in that and “give up” on us. Remind us of the hope we have in Christ, be patient with us, pray with/for us, and while you might not understand what we are going through, there is strength in knowing we aren’t alone in our suffering.
